March-Where the red fern Grows

This book is signifigant because it relates to the real world with really good description. I could totally picture everything! This book is important because it could change your mind about a lot of things for an example, racoons?
I can connect this book to the real world because I to want a dog so badly that I would by one with my own money if I could.

Continued-(Lack of space on last post)

-safe in hippie land. This book is cool because the whole story relies on one simple accident.

Feb. Blog--Schooled(Continued above for lack of post space)

February Blog
Schooled
This book is important to me because it changed the way I think. I think it is brilliant the way that the author of this book a courage so sincere that it changed the life of other characters. Also the fact that it wasn't something that was hard for Capricorn, he did so much with out knowing it! He thought it was a custom that happened to everybody.
The author of this book was probably a person who loves to joke, because the book Schooled was funny enough make you stop breathing! But he also must understand the middle school mind because there are a lot of things that happen that unlike most books, I can clearly imagine. This book's time period has to be pretty darn modern, but the writer must have had experience because the main character (Capricorn,) Is based on Hippie infested 60's and 70's.
The argument that the writer was trying to make is that love and peace is always the best option and it always has the best out come of all choices. This is because Capricorn was so posed to be the laughing stock of the year, but with a few swift hippie moves, he is the star of the school.
This book connects to my own life because I am also in middle school and I am very pleased with agreeing on a lot of the characters middle school thoughts like, "The popular kids are so dumb," at least thats what it seems. A real world connection is that the story is so like any other story thats real. Of course you don't see the new hippie dude walking into your school every day but, the story is so believable because its so like a real middle school story.
It all comes down to this. Suppose you took out the fact that Rain fell out of the tree and BOOM! Hugh is president and laughing stock of the year and Capricorn stays

January- The Fellowship of The Ring

This book is important to me because it is full of intense adventure and friendship.
It is exiting and changes pace suddenly and swiftly. I chose this piece because my dad
suggested it to me and it sounded especially good after reading The Hobbit.
The author of this book probably had a very broad imagination and went on many adventures in his own mind. That is because the adventures taken by Frodo and his friends are long and far to exiting to be real. The time period of this writing is in
"Middle Earth," which is an ancient time when Humans shared the world with Hobbits,
Elves, Dwarves, Dragons and many other magnificent creatures.
The argument that the author is trying to make in this book is that down to the base,
life is an adventure. I say this because the whole book is based on an adventure that
comes down to the will that the characters have to survive.
This piece of writing applies to my life because I share the same stubborn personality as the character Strider. I apply this piece to Mr. Strong because he has the strong determination of the characters.
A prediction I can make at this point in the book is that Frodo will go on with a greater party than before because he met Gandalf and some friends. If I changed the fact that Gandalf had been held captive, Frodo and friends would have more hope, and perhaps Frodo wouldn't be wounded.

January- The Hobbit

Significance-
This book is important to me because it is a really good adventure story filled with lots of elaborate description. This book also explains how humans came in and sort of destroyed peace love and happiness.
Perspective-
The author of this book was trying to make a good adventure story. The author of this book was also very successful. He made it also very easy to see all of the character's perspectives in the book and how they change through out it. Bilbo obviously was taken very by surprise on the journey, but his perspective about the journey changed a whole lot.
Supposition-
Suppose Bilbo had not been chosen to go on the journey. The journey would end in many places
if it weren't for Bilbo, and it happened by mere chance the Bilbo went on the journey. I already think I know what is going to happen next, and that is probably because the book is almost over.
Evidence-
You can tell that the writer was very descriptive and knew all of the characters well because each of the characters has a big story behind them. The book The Hobit has been especially good because you can see each character change a lot, and there is a whole bunch of characters.
Connection-
This book has a lot of real world connections. The biggest one I would say is that Bilbo gets less and less scared of the journey as it goes on. That happens a lot. I was scared of roller coasters when I was introduced to them but now they are really fun. Bilbo goes through that kind of change through out the book.

December blog- The Looking Glass Wars

The Looking Glass Wars
Significance
I think this work matters because it influeces imagination and determination.
I chose this piece because I knew it would be funny. But it turned out to be a really good story too.
Supposition-Suppose Alyss never went back to Wonderland. The story would be much different. The queen Red would go on in her extreme monarchy, and Alyss would marry the prince of England. Wonderland would have no hope.
Evidence-
The people in the book say them selves that as long as Alyss remained alive, there would still be hope for Wonderland. I think that the argument that the author was trying to make is that imagination is a source of learning, not a childish burden. That is because the powerful thing about the queens in Wonderland is their imagination.
Perspective-
Well, the book is an over done spoof of Alice in Wonderland. So the writer of the book had to have known about the story Alice in Wonderland before writing it. The writer probably was trying to make it funny and unique.
Connection-
A connection to the real world in this book is that Alyss as a child is very foolish and uses her unique and powerful imagination against people that she is mad at. It sounds exactly like what I suppose a child would to if it were capable of turning its imagination into real life.

Things not Seen/Andrew Clements continued

Connection-
The boy in the story feels like he is being treated like a little kid to much. His mom and dad are really worried about him, but he himself isn't.When his parents get in a car crash and go to the hospital, they don't expect their own 15 year old son to be able to take care of himself for a few days. I feel like that some times. Like my parents just always need to check on me.
Perspective-
The perspective of the writer was very with the perspective of the boy, (the main character) a lot because the boy is the narrator. The plot is mainly that Bobby, (the main character) turns invisible and they don't want any body to know because it would draw to much attention from to many places. They try to get Bobby "back." The author obviosly had fun with it so I would say he was pretty with the problem.
Evidence-
I think that the argument that the author was trying to make was to believe in your self. That is true because Bobby has to make a lot of really hard decisions for himself, and other people like his own dad, are treating him like a lab rat. The 2 dads in the 2 families who know about bobby are insane "mad scientists" so bobby is more like an expeirement than a son. That means he's mostly on his own except for a girl he meets.
Supposition-
Say Bobby didn't have 2 first class scientists? What if he had no chance of turning visible again. What if they gave up and one day floating pants and shirt walked into school one day and BOOM! The whole world knows there is this invisible person and Bobby turns into a freak movie star or spy or something. Booby would have a tottally different life! Bobby would be invisible for life. If I could change it Bobby would stay invisible foe a while longer and some people find out about Bobby. Then he would turn visible again right before a million jillion news crews and the FBI get to his house.
